But, remember, my focus is to educate – not tell you what to do. I believe that once you understand the difference between Godmade and manmade food and how the two affect your bodies, you will want to choose Godmade foods.
I stood looking over the audience.
In the first component, I taught you about estrogen dominance, weight loss resistance, and how we alleviated both with a simple salivary test, a supplement called DIM that directed estrogen down the right paths that helped both progesterone and testosterone levels increase, how we used low doses of all natural progesterone cream to increase progesterone levels and lastly how I raised my testosterone levels with testosterone boosters.
These were all temporary bandaids. Vicky and I had to remove the fat that menopause and andropause had placed onto our body, but before we could do that, we had to alleviate the estrogen dominance and decrease inflammation.
For example, fresh, Godmade foods come with the enzymes needed to digest them. Man will take God’s food and process it removing these enzymes. I call it knocking the God out of it.
After we both discovered that we were estrogen dominant and started correcting the balance between progesterone and estradiol within Vicky and testosterone and estradiol within myself, we went after the primary cause of hormonal disruption in our bodies. Can anyone tell me what that is?
Several people yelled out ‘inflammation.’
I see that for many of you this isn’t your first rodeo. So, then, what is the primary cause of chronic inflammation?
Several people yelled out ‘diet.’
The second component of Phase one of The HOPE Protocol is called The Mac Anti-inflammatory Elimination Diet. It is the first of 3 diets. The other 2 are The Mac Ketogenic Vegetein Diet and The Mac Discovery Diet. We will get to those diets when you are ready. This first phase of The HOPE Protocol is all-out preparing your body for Phase Two, where we turn you into a fat burning machine
If you are hormonally challenged, you more than likely suffer from weight loss resistance. WLR is defined as the inability to lose eight no matter what you do. You join a gym, cut your calories and you gain 2 pounds.
In this diet we eliminated the pro-inflammatory foods from our diet one by one. As we eliminated the pro inflammatory foods, simultaneously we alleviated the imbalance within our sex hormones called estrogen dominance. Estrogen dominance is defined as having a progesterone ratio of less than 100 to 1. What that means is that you have less than 100 moles of progesterone to every mole of estradiol.
A better way to understand the formula is that if Vicky has less than 100 molecules of progesterone to every 1 molecule of estradiol, she is considered estrogen dominant. In the first component within Phase One of The HOPE Protocol, we taught you everything we did to alleviate estrogen dominance and its menacing symptoms of weight gain, weight loss resistance, sleeping disorders, anxiety, depression and the loss of energy, which in reality is the loss of drives, the drives to have sex, the drive to have fun, the drive to succeed. I you haven’t tested these two hormones, please, please do so.
Now let’s get back to inflammation. When I am talking about inflammation, I am not talking about the inflammation you have after you sprain your ankle. I am talking about systemic inflammation. It is also known as chronic inflammation. It is caused by the body releasing proteins that act like hormones. The proteins we are most concerned about are called pro-inflammatory cytokines. These proteins activate our immune systems. When you have chronic inflammation, your body’s immune system is attacking you. In a sense there is a war going on within your body.
The more research that comes out, the more likely it is that chronic systemic inflammation is the primary cause of most cancers, diabetes, heart disease, strokes, Alzheimer’s, obesity and hormonal disruption.
The first step we took to decrease inflammation was to eliminate the pro-inflammatory foods from our everyday diet. As our inflammation decreased, our internal chemistry began to harmonize. The first phase of The HOPE Protocol is all about harmonizing your internal chemistry so we could lose our excess fat efficiently.
You are going to find that the heart, soul and mind of all three of our diets is consuming God made food. We steered ourselves clear of manmade foods and toward Godmade foods. That one action did more for our internal chemistry than all the other 11 steps.
So what is the first food we eliminated from our diet? What is the one food that man has made that is making us the most unhealthy culture ever?
There were a smattering of different answers.
Many of you have gotten close. Yes we eliminated refined sugar, but we expanded the food group ti include all added sweeteners.
I stopped and look out over the audience. They looked as if I had just hit them in the gut. Faces were turning white and eyes were opened wide.
By eliminating all manmade added sweeteners from our diet our inflammation took a giant leap downwards. How did we know this? We lost the puffiness from our faces and guts. We dropped retained water.
Adding manmade sweeteners into your diet is the single worst mistake you can make. We discovered that to optimize the way we looked and felt, to harmonize our internal chemistry, we had to eliminate added sweeteners.
I stopped again and looked at the audience’s faces. Some of its members were smiling. Good.
The primary problem within The Great American Diet is the overuse of manmade added sweeteners. We discovered that manmade added sweeteners were in actuality a legal recreational drug. The difficulty we found is that added sweeteners are prolific within our food and drink.
Did you know that franchise restaurants actually glaze steaks, fish and chicken with sugar? They do this because we are addicted to it. Addiction makes our limbic systems crave it and jump for joy when we get it. That is the same system that cocaine, caffeine and THC from marijuana tickles.
Foods that are filled with added sweeteners are more addictive than cocaine and caffeine put together.
The number 1 addiction in the modern world is added sweeteners.
This includes organic cane sugar! This includes Artificial no calorie sweeteners. Let me read the 61 different names of sugar. If any of these names are on the ingredient label of the food you are about to eat, don’t consume them.

“But, aren’t those, at least many of them Godmade?” She asked.
Yes. Many are. And some of them we reintroduced back into our diets during Phase THREE, but during Phase ONE, we had to avoid all added sweeteners to decrease our chronic inflammation and our insulin levels. We found it imperative to avoid all added sweeteners during Phase ONE to prepare our bodies for Phase TWO.
“Did you replace them with artificial sweeteners?”
In our opinion, we discovered that artificial sweeteners were worse than any of the names I just mentioned. We would much rather consume real sweeteners, even refined sugars over any artificial sweeteners. These can cause not only more inflammation than real sweeteners, but even though they are caloric free, they can still raise your insulin levels.
“How can something that has no calories raise your insulin levels?” A tall balding man sitting next to the friendly blond lady asked.
Do you remember Pavlov’s dog? They heard a bell and stated salivating in anticipation of being fed. The sweetness of artificial sweeteners do the same thing. As soon as the sweetness hits your tastebuds, bam, insulin rises. There are studies that show that people that drink diet sodas weigh 10 pounds more on average than those that drink sweetened sodas.
That is whey we stayed away from
And before you can ask the next question. I looked at the tall balding man. We also stayed away from sugar alcohols. Some of these may actually have positive benefits, but they also may spike insulin and they are also known to cause problems with our micro-biome within our guts, which we found to be a major problem to the way we looked and felt in the sixth component of The Hope Protocol. Let me give you the names of some of the sugar alcohols that we avoided.

This was one of the most important lifestyle changes we made while developing The HOPE Protocol. The elimination of added sweeteners from your diet. We had to break our addiction. We were doing more damage to our bodies by consuming these products than we could ever imagine. I would be willing to bet that the consumption of these added sweeteners causes more deaths per year than smoking. That is how bad they are for our bodies.

“Are you trying to tell me that that I will never be able to eat apple pie again? That’s just sacrilegious. If that is the case, I’m walking out of here right here and now.”
Oh, No! I am saying while we are repairing the body, harmonizing our internal chemistry, we need to abstain from consuming added sweeteners. Do all of my clients follow this rule? Many do surprisingly, but in those that don’t, if I can get a 90% reduction in the consumption of sweeteners, I’ve done a good job.
After we repaired our bodies and achieved the bodies we desired and regained our drives to squeeze the juice from life, we learned that we could eat anything we wanted, as long as we ate it in small amounts. We picked and chose those times to have some Chunky Monkey, or have pie. The one action you will learn in Phase THREE is that you can eat those things that you were once addicted to, if you plan it and knew how much you would consume. Some of you may not be able to consume anything. You may need to use a gluten free crust and others may have to stay away from dairy, but we will find what foods you can eat in the third of The Mac Diets, The Mac Discovery Diet. That is down the road.
I also want to iterate that we are not fanatics. Vicky and I are just like you. We are sinners. We will all fail occasionally. And that’s ok! The secret is to know what to do the next day to get back on the looking and feeling great train.
There is no one in this room that has more fun, more pleasure, more joy than Vicky and I. That means, when we choose to, we will have a piece of pie or some chunky monkey. We know the foods we can and cannot eat. And as I have said, you will all learn that too in Phase THREE.
