The problem isn’t how many calories you eat. It isn’t how active you are. It’s your hormones! My husband had practiced for over 35 years as an anti-aging weight loss practitioner, and over the last 10 years we practiced together. In that time, we have advised hundreds of menopausal women who want to lose weight, but can’t.
We have found that 99% of these women suffer from a hormonal imbalance called estrogen dominance. Yes, menopause is caused by a lack of estrogen, but a lack of estrogen stops ovulation. Without ovulation, you lose the other two sex hormones, progesterone and testosterone. They are made within the ovarian follicle after you ovulate. If you do not ovulate, you do not make progesterone and testosterone.
After menopause, estrogen is primarily made from our fat. The irony is that estrogen is a very strong fat storing hormone; therefore, fat makes estrogen and estrogen makes fat and fat makes estrogen. The sad part is that enzymes within your fat cells convert progesterone and testosterone into estrogen. Progesterone and testosterone are fat burning hormones.

Women with estrogen dominance feel defeated. They feel and look older nearly overnight. Their drives become nonexistent, their drives to have fun, to be succesful, to have sex, goes poof. But what really bothers them is what they see in the full length mirror, the roll, the sag. These women not only feel defeated they look defeated.
Many of these women just give up. In reality, life is over for them. They become so bored with life that their day is more like a walk through mud with a backpack filled with rocks. They can get through the day, but what they really want is 4 walls, a closed door and to be left alone.
I know how you feel. I felt the same way after I went into menopause. My case was probably psychologically worse. My husband and I owned several weight loss clinics throughout Northern California. Here I was a weight loss guru and now I was having the same problem as my clients. I did find a way out. I asked my husband for help. Do you know how hard that was for me?
