Progesterone Creams Saved me.
I spent $400 a month on boot camps and personal trainers and gained 2 pounds!
On workout days, I was famished the rest of the day. I wanted to eat, eat, and eat some more.
I felt like I was depriving myself of all that was good in life.
I love my food.
My husband recommended that I test my hormones and he was right!
I was a hormonal mess.
He told me that when I went into menopause my ovaries stopped making progesterone and testosterone.
An my fat converted what little progesterone and testosterone I had into estrogen.
Apparently fat, especially abdominal fat, makes enzymes that cause this conversion.
I had become estrogen dominant and the hormone test I took verified it.
To balance my hormones, it was recommended for me to start on some low dose progesterone.
I started to use it and after about 30 days, I regained enough balance that I could lose weight again.
I want to let all that read this that I did not lose weight by taking low dose progesterone, but REGAINED my ability to lose weight.
I still had to go on a diet and it wasn’t a caloric restricted diet, it was a food restricted diet my husband designed for hormonally challenged women.
Over the last ten years, I experimented with several over-the-counter progesterone creams.
Most of the ones I used had 20 to to 25 milligrams of progesterone within them.
That’s the same amount our hormone optimization clinics began our patients on.
We are now retired and my husband no longer practices and the 7 medical clinics that we owned and operated are all closed now.
The good news is that I could continue to use over-the-counter creams with the exact same dose I had been using all along.
I must let you know that you should never use progesterone creams without consulting your physician.
If you are interested we have a three month course that you can enroll in called Make Menopause Awesome.

Here are the several progesterone creams that I have used, and have been used in our clinics. These are our favorites.
This is probably the cream with the most accolades. My only problem, is that it is one of the more expensive creams. Click on the link above and you will be sent to Amazon where they usually have it in stock.
This is the cream we sold in our 7 medical clinics. I have probably used this more than any other cream. My husband isn’t as fond of this cream as he once was. This is the cream he recommends for women that want to lose weight more than they want to sleep. This cream has fat burners in it that will keep some up at night if used. My husband also says that women complain about its fragrance. I really like this cream. Harmony cream has 25 milligrams of progesterone per pump. It also has a couple of the B vitamins, and vitamin E and D. All are very important to our program
This is the one my husband recommends. This one has 20 milligrams per 1/4 teaspoon. This is my husband’s favorite because he has never heard anyone complain about this one.
Progesterone Creams Options
This one is the tried and true progesterone cream. I’ve heard that NOW makes the products for most companies. They just stick a private label on it. I don’t know if it is true, but I know when I used to purchase large quantities from NOW, they were nearly always sold out. If you are on a budget, this is the one I would purchase. It’s half the price. I have never heard of any of our clients or past patients complain about the cream. I do remember a couple problems with the pump malfunctioning, but nothing serious.
We also sold a progesterone mist in our clinics. Our patients and clients really liked the idea of spraying this on their chests. I found it a bit oily for my taste. Life-flo also makes a well know cream with a pump.
How I Applied Progesterone Creams
Remember, do you not use progesterone cream without first consulting your doctor. Below is for information purposes only.
I would rub the cream in thoroughly on my upper chest, right where my chin touches it when I bend my head forward.
If I was not using Internal harmony, I would apply the cream at night.
- If you are hormonally challenged, progesterone has been proven to help with sleep. You can read about this in our e-book, Making Menopause Awesome, The 3 Steps.
- If I was using Internal harmony cream, I used it in the morning.
I would apply the cream for 25 days, then take 3 days off.
If I was still having periods, I would use half a dose for 14 days, then a full dose for 14 days, then take 3 days off.
I Made sure not to bathe for a couple of hours after applying.
If I was going to be intimate with my husband I applied after intimacy, though he swears that I put it on him while he sleeps.
It makes men really sweet. More on that in another post.
